Not much has been written about the fascinating iratai karlakattai Indian club. It has a unique design with this single club with a handle at each end. This allows for the flexibility of using one hand or both hands at the same time as well as being able to transition from one hand to the other at opposite ends of the club.

Equally, there are not many practitioners sharing their knowledge with the irattai club as it seems to be a relatively new concept. The Yoga Karlakattai gurukulam, founded by Dr Jothi Senthil Kannan, is the epicentre of karlakattai training in Pondicherry, India.
