Description

These lighter mace/gadas are a great starting point on your Indian gada journey. They are perfect for building a foundation of good technique before moving onto heavier weights. Even for the more advanced practitioners, they are perfect for warm-up and rest day movements.

Mace/gada training is a rediscovered staple of strongman and combat sports training throughout the world. This excellent full body exercise, has been a warrior conditioning tool for thousands of years – inherited by the kushti wrestlers of India, Pakistan and Persia. Known as a gada in the Indian subcontinent and the main weapon of the Hindu god Hanuman – renowned for his incredible strength. If you need a more challenging gada, take a look at our adjustable 8-12kg mahogany wood gada. This beast has a chamber for adding lead shot to reach the heavier weight. Also the thicker grip, screw-in handle can be used on its own as a 2.5kg warm-up mace!

I have just started training with a Mace and have bought the Gada with a view to heavier training going forward. Like all of the training equipment from BMF, it is very well made with an excellent use of two woods in the manufacture. Very securely packed and delivered via UPS. I think it is fantastic but I do have one minor comment. Unlike the Flowmace, it does not have a small ball/pommel at the end and as such it feels ‘unfinished’ in terms of manufacture (some pictures show it with one, some without – mine is without). The end of the handle has the appearance of just being ‘sawn off’ and has not been finished to the same sheen as the rest of the handle. I also wonder about the risk of slipping. I may have to find a tame wood turner locally to make me a pommel I can add on. Overall, a lovely piece of kit that will be enjoyable to train with but would give it 4/5 stars for the lack of pommel.

I purchased this as I wanted a high quality Gada, made of wood but lightweight enough to use as a beginner mace to learn to swing. Quite frankly it’s amazing.

It’s very well made. It’s beautiful. It’s weighted well and I love to swing it. It’s the perfect club for starting to learn to swing Gada if u are relatively fit already and I love it as a conditioning tool for BJJ.
