Description
These are authentic oak gadas from the sub-continent. Made from red oak, they may vary slightly from the photos shown. The quality can be described as rustic and some small blemishes and marks are considered normal. Weights can vary due to the nature of wood so some gadas maybe a little heavier or lighter than the weights specified. The head widths vary with size from small, medium and large: 21cm (8.25″) | 25.5cm (10″) | 28cm (11″).
Mace, or gada training is a rediscovered staple of strongman and combat sports training throughout the world. This excellent full body exercise, has been a warrior conditioning tool for thousands of years – inherited by the kushti wrestlers of Indian, Pakistan and Persia. Known as a gada in the Indian subcontinent and the main weapon of the Hindu god Hanuman – renowned for his incredible strength. Our mace is unlike most other maces on the market in that it has a thicker than normal grip. This will make for a more challenging swing and is therefore recommended for the experienced mace or gada swinger only. The reason being added user benefit due to greater muscle irradiation. This ‘fat’ grip shorter handle closely replicates the gada used by the legendary Indian strong man, Great Gama or The Undefeated. One of Gama’s main strength tools was his fat grip gada.
Here is one of our gadas being taken for a spin by the late Steve Angell.
And here’s Pete from BMF swinging a 9kg red oak adjustable gada with both Regular and Gama handles…

This is my second Gada from MBF. It’s beautifully made and lovely to swing. 6-9kg version, it’s 7kg exactly on the scale. and its a formidable piece of training equipment.

As I have come to expect from Peter the craftsmanship is second to none. Beautiful piece of red oak and an absolute pleasure to use and swing.
Can’t go wrong here. I won’t by my tools from anywhere else.
